Practice time until 8:30pm
Classes will build throughout the day. You can either take one class or both together to get the most out of the workshop.
Classes description:
*Open*
You will start by working on your basics and will creatively build from there! You will expand your vocabulary, bring home a few variations, and experiment with some fundamental improvisation exercises.
*Improver*
You will focus on experimenting with various rhythms and grooves in your solo jazz, always keeping an eye on the importance of the basics. You'll also explore some more creative improvisation exercises and drill on some juicy choreography.
About the teacher:
Cati is a solo jazz teacher, performer, and choreographer who's passionate about the spontaneity and endless creative possibilities that dancing solo can offer.
She started dancing as a child and found swing back in 2014.
Cati competes and teaches solo jazz nationally and internationally but her first and biggest love lies in local community classes and their feeling of warmth and support.
From her sessions you can expect lots of energy, drilling of classic steps, mixing of choreography and improvisation, and lots of rhythm. She aims to support each and every student explore this dance in their own terms and find themselves in this art form.
